What Are Fibroids
Fibroids or uterine Fibroids, to be more specific, are benign growths, also known as fibroid tumours that develop predominantly within the uterus.
Some fibroids do develop outside of the womb- they can grow on or near the cervix, on the uterus alone or within the belly cavity- but in most cases most of them tend to develop within the first layer of the uterus.
Fibroids, just like ovarian cysts or PCOS affect womens reproductive systems, produce a wide range of different but painful and sometimes debilitating symptoms, and can guide to serious health issues if untreated. Around 10% of the woman inhabitants suffer in silence.
The main reason is that fibroids are mostly non-cancerous mother nature and pose no immediate threat to womens health. Women are more or less told to learn to live with it and this is of course a mistake.
